HUNDREDS OF NEW NAMES ADDED !

Hundreds of new Braddon, Bradon and Bradden individuals and, more interestingly, links between parents and children have been added to the database. This information has come from London parish registers (Births & baptisms 1813-1906, Marriages & banns 1754-1921 and Deaths & burials 1813-1924). These are NOT complete for the whole of London but are invaluable, as following back family lines in London, with its many parishes, is notoriously difficult.

What this information retrieval has confirmed is how important it is to check the 3 most common variations of Braddon, Bradon and Bradden; the spellings are often interchangeable, sometimes in the same document.

Please do contact me if you have Braddon family information that might help and interest others.

Welcome to the Braddon family history website.

The site is a resource and a forum for all those interested in the history of the Braddons over the centuries and across the globe. This one-name study is registered with the Guild of One Name Studies.

In these pages you will find discussions on the origins of the name, variants, its distribution, some biographies , a database of indexes from the GRO of births, marriages and deaths in England & Wales and data on individuals and descendancy charts.

Although I have created the site and take responsibility for it, it is open to all, so please do supply information, correct errors, fill gaps and offer different interpretations. Do contact me at braddon@one-name.org or through the blog.

If you are making a return visit to the site, you will be able to identify these additions and changes since your last visit on the 'What's New?' page. Data is regularly added and amendments made (to resolve duplications, for example), so it is well worth checking regularly.

This site would not have been possible without those who have supplied information or given practical advice and encouragement. My sincere thanks to all of them.
